Pokey LaFarge Pokey LaFarge is a musician, songwriter, bandleader, entertainer, innovator and preservationist, whose arsenal of talents has placed him at the forefront of American music. Over the last decade, Pokey has won the hearts of music lovers across the globe with his creative mix of early jazz, string ragtime, country blues and western swing. After signing with Jack White’s Third Man Records to release his fifth full-length album (Pokey LaFarge) in 2013, he performed as a musical guest on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show on Ireland’s RTÉ One network. Pokey’s rendition of “Lovesick Blues” with Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks, featured on an episode of Boardwalk Empire, was selected for inclusion on the series’ official soundtrack (Vol. 2). The 9th Street Stompers The 9th Street Stompers are an outfit of well-dressed no-counts chopping on acoustic instruments and singing about life, death, love, and liquor. Hailing from Chattanooga, Tennessee, they cull up the musical scenery of an era when the lines between swing, gypsy jazz, blues, rockabilly, and tango weren’t nearly as hard and fast as the drinking and dancing. Steering clear of much of the novelty and kitsch associated with pre-war music, they choose to demonstrate the modern relevance of their chosen medium. With Skip Frontz Jr. on string bass and Lon Eldridge on guitar, ukulele, and kazoo, they share vocal duties while being joined by Dalton Chapman on hot guitar, state fiddling champion John Boulware, Christie Burns on piano, and drummer extraordinaire Bryan Gross. If you like high-energy showmanship and top-notch musical prowess, The 9th Street Stompers will see you front row!!! Dismembered Tennesseans It was back in 1945 that a group of McCallie students got together and began singing and playing a brand of Bluegrass music that has gone on now for more than 65 years. The name "Dismembered Tennesseans" seemed good enough a name for a bunch of teenagers who had no long range plans, and they sang their way through school. But somehow the music never stopped, and the band stayed together for the next 65 years, singing and laughing their way across the country - from Florida to Washington to Ohio and Colorado and points between. They played for every local civic group in existence, every charity, and most of the conventions in town looking for cheap entertainment. They have also played at the Annual Chattanooga Riverbend Festival and at Kennedy Center. Packway Handle Band The Packway Handle Band serves up a dark and passionate folk aesthetic…with a side of blood” [Sarah Hagerman,]. The five members of Packway have wowed audiences for over a decade with near perfect 4-part harmonies and seemingly boundless on-stage synergy. Over the years the band has evolved as a premier gather-around-the-mic act. Their performance is focused around a tight cluster of microphones surrounded by an arsenal of acoustic and electric instruments: banjo, fiddle, mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar, upright and electric bass, and an ever-changing array of percussive accessories, sometimes called “The Rattletrap.” Packway’s sound is steeped in old-fashioned bluegrass, but they hold a niche in the American music realm that’s all their own. Clever songwriting, an eccentric mixture of modern folk music, dark themes, old-time religion, affectionate satire of Bluegrass, and devotion to apocalyptic infotainment leave the listener to decide what exactly a Packway Handle is. as headliner for Nightfall on Friday, May 9th 2014 from 8:00-10:00 p.m. Visit the website for more info -

Pack of Wolves Pack of Wolves is a soulful blues group based in Chattanooga, Tennessee made up of six veteran musicians. The live sets grow from subtle to savage as the band tunes in the echoes of authentic American blues, then sparks them to life with extraordinary vocals from Tootsie von Comare, guitar work from Lightning, as well as soulful keyboards from Bill Lefton and a rock solid foundation from the ultra-experienced road-wise rhythm duo, Robert Grier (bass) and Mike Salter (drums). It’s blood and guts blues, drawing on original songs, as well as source nuggets from the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Muddy Waters. "I Hate Hamlet" by Paul Rudnick I Hate Hamlet centers on a young and successful television actor who relocates to New York, where he rents a marvelous, gothic apartment. With his television career in limbo, the actor is offered the opportunity to play Hamlet onstage, but there’s one problem: He hates Hamlet. His dilemma deepens with the entrance of John Barrymore’s ghost, who arrives intoxicated and in full costume to the apartment that once was his. The contrast between the two actors, the towering, dissipated Barrymore whose Hamlet was the greatest of his time, and Andrew Rally, hot young television star, leads to a wildly funny duel over women, art, success, duty, television, and yes, the apartment. Director: Rick Parker, Producer: G David Brown. Online pricing reflects transaction fee. Opening Night Dinner Theatre | Thursday April 24 at 6:00 | Tickets $25 (reservations required). Sunday Matinee, April 27 at 2:00PM, Friday-Saturday April 25-26 and Thursday-Saturday May 1-3 at 7:30PM, Tickets: $12/adult  $8/student. Please visit for tickets.

Free Will Astrology: April 17, 2014 ARIES (March 21-April 19): It’s Compensation Week. If you have in the past suffered from injustice, it’s an excellent time to go in quest of restitution. If you have been deprived of the beauty you need to thrive, now is the time to get filled up. Wherever your life has been out of balance, you have the power to create more harmony. Don’t be shy about seeking redress. Ask people to make amends. Pursue restorations. But don’t, under any circumstances, lust for revenge.
