Pedal into the season with Outdoor Chattanooga
Houses, front yards, trees, cars, boats, and city sights are traditionally donned with twinkling lights in every color for the holidays. Bikes aren’t so much—until this year.
Grab some LED lights, let your imagination run wild, and challenge yourself to highlight your bike or tandem for Outdoor Chattanooga’s free event, Light Your Bike Family Ride on Friday, Dec. 5.
Starting at 6 p.m. at Coolidge Park, participants will ride alongside Outdoor Chattanooga and the Chattanooga Police Dept. through downtown to the Southside and back to Coolidge, a total of about five miles.
Participants may bring their own bike or borrow one from Outdoor Chattanooga. All bikes must have at least one rear reflector and front white light. Helmets are recommended for everyone, and all participants aged 16 and under are required to wear them.
For those with little ones, organizers are asking that tagalongs, BOB trailers, and safety bike carriers be used rather than training wheels, kids’ tricycles, or pushbikes.
Finally, be sure to arrive early because kids will receive goodie bags (while supplies last), and the first 75 participants will receive bike lights.
Turn on those thinking caps and design a ride that lights up the night!
