See The World Without Leaving Chattanooga
Chattanooga State Community College will be hosting their 17th annual Culture Fest on this Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the First Tennessee Pavilion. Chattanooga State has partnered with the Chattanooga Market, the Hunter Museum, the City of Chattanooga, and Hamilton County to bring the diversity of the Scenic City to the forefront for all to experience.
Entertainment and activities will include performances from local cultural groups, a Nations Parade, and featured dances and art from eighteen countries. Learning opportunities will be offered by Chattanooga State’s Cultural Ambassadors and International Achievers to enrich the publics knowledge of other cultures within our own city.
The Culture Fest will also be giving awards for outstanding representatives in categories such as Best Cultural Display Booth, Best Delegation in the Nations Parade, and the most authentic dress in the multicultural fashion show.
The opening ceremony will begin with local leadership presenting the new members of the Cultural Ambassadors and International Achievers; which makes up over 200 local leaders, speaking 30 languages and representing 50 countries.
The Culture Fest hopes to give attendees the opportunity to connect with others from different cultural backgrounds within our own city, while working to create a bridge of understanding and respect for one another in our region.
