"Un-scene Chattanooga"
In-Town Gallery 26 Frazier Avenue, City of Chattanooga, Tennessee 37405
Victoria Pearmain presents her new collection of oil paintings that represent her view of behind-the-scenes locations around Chattanooga that remain hidden from the casual observer. An opening reception from 5pm to 8pm on the First Friday, February 7, 2014, at the gallery, is an opportunity to meet the artist and see what she sees in this area.
A plein-air painter for many years, Pearmain absorbs the atmosphere of her subjects on location to give life to her representation which she finalizes in the studio. A vacant lot, the factory now shut down, the little view of nature on the edge of the Walmart parking lot – these city vignettes inspire her works in oil on canvas, paper or panels.
