UWGC to Host Tennessee Valley Institute for Nonprofit Excellence’s Fifteenth Annual Conference at Southern Adventist University
The Conference Will Explore Topics and Challenges That Face Local Nonprofits
United Way of Greater Chattanooga’s Center for Nonprofits will host its fifteenth annual TVI conference on Tuesday, August 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Southern Adventist University in the Hulsey Wellness Center. The theme is “Nonprofit Wellness: How Healthy is Your Nonprofit?” Nonprofit staff and leaders are encouraged to attend, as well as nonprofit board members.
The conference will explore a variety of topics and challenges that face local nonprofits.
Attendees may choose between five breakout sessions that will feature experts covering topics such as fundraising, board development, and nonprofit leadership.
Nationally-recognized Fundraising Expert, Kent Stroman, will be this year’s keynote speaker. Stroman’s career spans over 35 years in the philanthropic sector including higher education and private consulting in fundraising, board governance, strategic planning, and leadership development.
Stroman will offer a keynote address on “Wellness in Governance: Building an Intentional Board” as well as a separate breakout session on “How to Ask: The Healthy Way to Get More Money.” Additional sessions on nonprofit legal, financial, HR wellness will be presented by regional experts from the following organizations:
• Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel
• Mauldin & Jenkins
• Blood Assurance
• Public Education Foundation
• Grow for Good
In addition to offering education on topics regarding wellness of nonprofit organizations, attendees will receive information about maintaining personal health, including tips for managing stress and “compassion fatigue.”
Early registration costs $100 and ends on July 3. Registration fees are $125 from July 4 through July 30, and $150 from July 31 until the day of TVI. Fees include breakfast and lunch.
