Bridge Christian Church in Chattanooga will wrap up its annual Movies in the Park at Dark series on Friday, August 23. The final movie of the season is a heartwarming story about the friendship between a young boy and a dolphin whose tail was lost in a crab trap. Harry Connick Jr., Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman star in the film.
The movie will be shown on a large screen at Heritage Park, and will begin at dark. The event is free, open to the public, and popcorn will be provided at no charge.
At 6:30 p.m., inflatables will be set up for children to play on before the movie. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show. The movie will be cancelled for inclement weather.
Many Chattanooga-area families have enjoyed the popular summer movie series this year. In June, “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted” was featured, and in July “Wreck-It Ralph” was shown.
Movies in the Park at Dark are presented in partnership with the Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department. Heritage Park is located at 1428 Jenkins Road in Chattanooga. The 22-acre park has a walking track, playground, picnic tables, bocce ball court, public art, and an off-leash dog park.
