Join the Chattanooga Bach Choir and our chamber orchestra for our fall concert as we “Celebrate the Seasons” featuring the 300th Anniversary of Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria. This concert is presented on November 22, St. Cecilia Day (the patron Saint of music) and we honor her with a performance of Benjamin Britten’s A Hymn to St. Cecilia at 3:30 pm. In addition to the Britten work, the first half of the concert includes a set of Madrigals and other music that recalls the tradition of Christmas Madrigal Feasts, complete with a Wassail toast and the Boar’s Head Carol. The second half of the concert features the Vivaldi as well as “Break Forth o Beauteous Heavenly Light” from J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and the famous setting of Ave Maria by Franz Biebl. The choir will be joined by soloists Beth DuRoy, Caitlin Hammon, and Kelly Stultz at First Christian Church.
