Friends of Stringer's Ridge is having its first fundraiser this Saturday, Jan. 11 from 6-9:00 at The Gear Closet. Funds raised at the "Chili-Pint Night" will go toward purchasing needed equipment for trail maintenance and development and for future projects. Tickets are $15 at the door and will get attendees chili, a pint glass, and their first beer. It'll be family friendly with hotdogs and smores available for roasting over a fire. The event will also feature live music and the Chattanooga Brew Choo!
Group activities are planned at Stringer's Ridge park on Jan. 11 as well. A group hike and a group trail run will depart at 1:00 from the Spears parking lot trailhead at noon, and a group mountain bike ride will depart from Suck Creek Cycle at 2:00. These activities are a great way for people who haven't visited the park yet to get familiar with the trails while exploring with a 'guide,' or a chance for park regulars to get out with friends.
