The Craft Artists of Southern Tennessee group invites the public to the 17th annual Holiday Studio Tour in the beautiful Monteagle and Sewanee communities on the Cumberland Plateau. This year the tour takes place on Saturday, December 1st, 10:00 – 5:00 CST and on Sunday, December 2nd, 12:00 – 5:00 CST.

Over 30 local and regional artists will show their work, which ranges from textiles, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, and glass to paintings, cast bronze, metal work, and wood work. Chattanooga artists Linda Kay White, Thomas Spake, Dick McGee, Mary Beth McClure, Mary L. Lynch, Marjorie Langston, Carol Kimmons, Lolly Durant, Becky Braddock and Denise Bizot will be among the exhibiting artists. Sewanee artists who will open their studios to the public during the tour include Bob Askew, Jill Carpenter, Dan Pate, Ben Potter, Claire Reishman, Archie Stapleton, and Merissa Tobler. Other locations displaying work are the American Legion Hall, Locals Gallery, The Community Center, the Edgeworth Inn, Mooney’s Market and Emporium and St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School, both in the Spencer Room and the SAS Art Gallery. Most sites host several different artists showing their work, while the SAS Art Gallery presents the group exhibition “Full CAST 2011.” Light refreshments will be available at many locations.

The St. Andrew’s - Sewanee Gallery presents the “Full CAST 2011” exhibition featuring work from most Holiday Tour participants, CAST-TACA members, and SAS faculty and staff. Most works featured in the “Full CAST” exhibition are also for sale.

Bright yellow signs mark the tour route and maps are available at all locations on the tour as well as at all sponsors’ locations. Maps can also be found at In-Town Gallery and the brochure area between AVA and Blue Skies on Frazier Avenue in Chattanooga, and on the web at http://www.cast-taca.org (click on “studio tour”).
