The Homesteads Apple Festival features a unique blend of Old-Fashioned Family Fun and wholesome ingredients that festival-goers love. The main ingredient is the warm, down-home feeling generated by a caring community trying to raise funds to preserve their history. Add to that; a heaping-helping of quality crafts, a dash of storytelling, mix well with hand-made quilts, live music, antique tractors, smoked barbeque, fresh-picked apples from the orchard, and delicious fried apple pies, and you've got a winning recipe for success!
The relaxed setting of the historic landscape of the Homesteads Tower is the perfect atmosphere to step back in time and forget the hustle and bustle. When you purchase a festival ticket you can also enjoy free admission to the Homestead Tower Museum to learn about the history of this unique New Deal Community.
The festival is the main fund-raising event for the Cumberland Homesteads Tower Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and equal opportunity employer and provider that operates two museums within the Cumberland Homesteads Historic District.
