FACES UnMasked Invites Artists to Celebrate the Story of the Human Spirit
FACES: The National Craniofacial Association is seeking local artists, celebrities, and community members to create masks and artwork to celebrate the story of the human spirit for its annual fundraising event, FACES UnMasked. Artists can work with a mask provided, create their own mask, or can choose not to use a literal mask and create in any size or medium. Diversity, originality, and non-literal interpretation is encouraged!
Many children and adults with craniofacial disorders live with shame, fear, and doubt. Oftentimes they feel that their facial differences are masks that others use to define and limit them. FACES UnMasked celebrates the beautiful, strong, and courageous spirit inside. Proceeds from FACES UnMasked will directly help fund the financial assistance program that enables FACES clients to travel for life-changing reconstructive surgeries and treatment.
Finished masks and artwork will hang in the H*Art Gallery located on E. Main Street through October and then be transferred to the Church on Main for the main gala event on October 27.
Call for Artist details can be found at www.faceunmasked.org. Mask kits can be picked up at H*Art Gallery at 110 E. Main Street, Wednesday, July 17 through September.
