Saturday, September 14th from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Chattanooga Arboretum and Nature Center. Cost: For members-$10 per family, For nonmembers-$15 per family. What Will Happen: We’ll take a peek inside the book that started it all, Fairy Houses by Tracy Kane. Then you’ll receive a purse of fairy gold so that you can buy building and decorating materials in the fairy market place. You and your fellow builders will explore the Arboretum grounds for just the right site, collecting Nature’s “cast off’s” along the way. (Nothing live is ever picked to build a fairy house. The fairies wouldn’t like that!)
Feel free to bring natural materials from home if you like, but remember that they’ll have to stay at the Nature Center with your fairy house. When you’re finished with your house, we’ll take a photo of it to be posted on our website and emailed to you. Want to see fairy houses built right here at the Arboretum? Visit http://chattanoogaanc.org/www/docs/189/fairy-houses. Want to see other fairy houses from around the country? Visit http://www.fairyhouses.com/ . What to Bring: a re-useable water bottle to fill and natural materials for building (optional). How to register: Call 423.821-1160 ext. 0 to register. Prepayment and preregistration is required.
