Our new winter session designed just for homeschoolers ages 7-12 begins in January.
Instructor: Jas Milam, MAAT
The urge to make art is as old as mankind. Beginning with the tools on hand – dirt, charcoal, animal fat – early artists sketched the world around them. As mankind evolved so did art materials and subject matter. It is especially interesting to note how politics, culture and religious beliefs are reflected in the art of certain peoples throughout time. Each week students will explore a different period in art history and the progression of techniques and art materials used by focusing on an art project related to that time period. A variety of tools and materials will also provide participants with a range of artistic approaches. Through PowerPoint presentations, demonstrations and lots of hands-on art projects, students will gain an understanding of how art has changed and the important role that it plays throughout history.
For those students who were enrolled in the Fall session, this series will pick up where you left off. If you have not taken the fall session, no worries at all! It is not a pre-requisite. Come and join the fun!
All materials are included in class fee. Discount provided for registering multiple siblings
