Joy Ike
Pittsburgh-based singer/songwriter Joy Ike has been compared to the likes of Corinne Bailey Rae, Norah Jones, and Regina Spektor. Her honest, bittersweet songwriting has earned her the title of Pittsburgh City Paper’s “Best Solo Artist” for the fourth year in a row, the chance to open for a number of national touring acts, and the the opportunity to play festivals such as Lilith Fair, Purple Door, and Calvin College’s Festival of Faith & Music. Her music has turned up on Relevant Magazine’s The Drop, and various NPR affiliates in the northeast. A write-up on NPR’s All Things Considered says “The depth of subjects she tackles in her poetic lyrics are perfectly complemented by a unique blend of neo-soul, with just the right dash of pop.a truly compelling act to watch in person, with the ability to create an intimate setting in locations big and small.”
