Kristin Kendall Solo Art Exhibit Opening Reception
Townsend Atelier 301 E. 11th St., City of Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402
Townsend Atelier is pleased to announce the debut and solo art exhibition by artist and Townsend Atelier instructor, Kristin Kendall. The exhibit includes work in a wide variety of subject matter and mediums that Kristin has created since moving to Chattanooga two years ago - a period of time that has redefined her motives, understanding of, and relationship with art. Once considering herself a traditional portrait artist, Kristin has expanded her production to include more conceptual still life and figures while focusing on color harmony, brushwork, and dramatic values. This exhibit will be Kristin's first time introducing her artwork to the Chattanooga community.
As a Powell, TN native, Kristin grew up in Knoxville, later moved to Nashville to expand her practice, and has since settled in Chattanooga. Her formal training comes from Carson Newman University where she earned her B.A. in Art in 2008. Eventually realizing her skill should be shared, she received her certification to teach art from Lincoln Memorial University in 2011. In addition to teaching at Townsend Atelier, she works in grant-funded art programs throughout the city and teaches independently.
The public is invited to the opening reception at Townsend Atelier on Friday, September 7 from 5:30-8:30 pm.Works include paintings, drawings and prints and are framed and unframed. All are available for purchase and range in prices that will be comfortable for everyone's wallet.
