Live United Day is a day-long celebration of all things United Way at the Chattanooga Market. Held the third Sunday every August, this is a great, kid-friendly event for the entire family.
This year a community-wide Stuff the Bus collection will be held at the Market from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Last year $35,000 in school supplies were collected at the market. This year's goal is $40,000.
Approximately 14 United Way partners will have booths set up throughout the Market with children's games, arts, crafts and healthy activities for children and their families to enjoy. Parents can also sign their toddlers up for free books and learning check-ups. Every child who completes a learning check up at the market that day will receive, by mail, a voucher for one free adult pass and one free child pass to the Creative Discovery Museum.
A few of the featured activities at the Market on August 16 will include face painting, bookmark making, arts & crafts, air darts and other games (to name only a few activities). United Way will also have LIVE UNITED t-shirts on sale, and all proceeds go to benefit United Way and the impact work of its partner agencies. Of course, visitors can also enjoy Chattanooga Market's great vendors with food, produce and hand-made artisan goods.
