It’s Christmas Eve, 1910, in the city of Cayenne, territory of French Guiana. A lovely afternoon—only 105 degrees. The Ducotel family is in a bit of trouble, their store is failing and the owner, a disagreeable uncle, is coming to assess their future. Even worse, their daughter just learned that her beloved is engaged to another girl. Enter three convicts from Devil’s Island who take the situation in hand. With the help of Adolphe, their snake, they right the wrongs done and deliver a merry Christmas—after a fashion.
