Project Homeless Connect
National Guard Armory 1801 S. Holtzclaw Avenue, City of Chattanooga, Tennessee 37404
The annual Project Homeless Connect community-wide event will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016, from 9:00 a.m until 1:30 p.m. The event will again be held at the National Guard Armory on Holtzclaw Ave.
Project Homeless Connect is a nationwide grassroots program that provides the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless resources, services, and information. This event is thanks to the dedication, generosity, and goodwill of the National Guard Armory and scores of providers, social service agencies, schools and colleges, businesses, government agencies, medical professionals, churches, volunteers, and students.
The services available include employment resources, healthcare services and resources, housing counseling, family resources, clothing give-away, on-site dentists, on-site haircuts, veterans’ services, veterinary information, voter registration information, and more.
Approximately 600 individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless are expected to attend the event.
Volunteers are the heart of Project Homeless Connect and there are many ways to become involved, including helping people check in for the event, escorting a client through needed services, or sharing a meal in the Connect Café. A full list of volunteer opportunities, as well as sign-up documents, is available at http://chattphc.weebly.com/.
