Reflections Gallery Artist Reception
Reflections Gallery 1635 Rossville Avenue, City of Chattanooga, Tennessee
On Thursday, December 1st, the works of featured artists Cindy McCashin and Faye Wolfe, both of Chattanooga, will be showcased at Reflections Gallery at 6922 Lee Hwy., with an artist reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The reception is open to the public and light refreshments will be served. Music will be provided by pianist, Gene Wolfe.
Cindy McCashin discovered her passion and abilities as an artist “quite accidentally” in 2013. Thrilled to have found a new creative outlet, Cindy says her self-taught artistic style is constantly evolving as she learns more with each new work. She currently defines her style as “Loose Realism.” The majority of her pieces are acrylic on canvas.
After enjoying a career path with many twists and turns, including working in television production & marketing with WRCB-TV, public television fund raising with WTCI (PBS), Cindy is now retired from her most recent career as a Realtor.
The daughter of a United States Air Force pilot, Cindy spent portions of her childhood in Europe and Japan. These early influences can be seen in several of her paintings. Cindy attended Middle Tennessee State University as a Music Education major, later earning a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a member of the Regional Art Alliance, the Civic Arts League of Chattanooga and the Association for Visual Arts (AVA) and her work has been shown in several venues in the area. Cindy’s first foray into exhibiting her work resulted in a First Place ribbon at Chattanooga Workspace.
Faye Wolfe has had a successful career in hairstyling and has served as President and held many other offices in the Chattanooga Cosmetology Association. Upon retirement, Faye became interested in the arts in the Chattanooga area. She is a signature member of Mixed Media Inspired Artists (MMIA) and a member of the Civic Arts League of Chattanooga.
Faye began painting with oils and has now expanded into acrylics, mixed media and multi-dimensional assemblages on canvas, paper and board. She also enjoys en plein air painting and the opportunities to travel which this style affords. She has studied under some of the Chattanooga/North Georgia area’s most well-known and respected artists.
Faye’s work has been featured in exhibits at Ringgold Art and Frame Gallery where her work won a 2nd Place award, North River Civic Center (where she won “Best in Show”), Foodworks Restaurant in downtown Chattanooga, Harris Art Center in Calhoun, GA, and the Collegedale Library.
Reflections Gallery is a hidden gem and a must-see in the Hamilton Place/ East Brainerd area. The gallery’s mission is to bring the works of the best local and regional artists to the art lovers of the Chattanooga area. With over 30 years in their current location as a custom framing studio and six years as a stained glass studio, the gallery has also now been a popular place for the exhibition of local original art for over 12 years!
The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Art exhibits are constantly changing, so there’s always something new to enjoy. Collectors and art buffs are encouraged to visit often!
