Rock/Creek River Gorge Trail Race
to
Prentice Cooper State Forest 3998 Game Reserve Rd, City of Chattanooga, Tennessee 37405
Run every year since 2001, this trail race has become a cult classic. The 10.2 mile distance is run entirely on single track, except for the half-mile start on forest roads; the 6.5 mile distance features 4.5 miles of single track and 2 miles of forest road. Both courses boast incredible bluff views of the Tennessee River Gorge, a lush forest landscape featuring hemlocks and rhododendrons, and some rocky, technical terrain; 10.2-mile runners will also encounter the infamous "rock garden" at Short Creek. Come prepared for unpredictable spring weather and the potential for slick footing.
This race is a great opportunity for StumpJump 50k runners to sample the middle portion of that course, for competitive trail racers to test their limits on one of the nicest trails we can imagine, and for new trail runners to experience one of our favorite runs. Proceeds benefit Wild Trails, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the use, expansion and promotion of trails in greater Chattanooga.
