The Cherokee Group of the Sierra Club will be hosting a picnic and slide show on Monday, July 28 at Outdoor Chattanooga. Come join Sierra in learning about the wonderful Wilderness Areas of our National Forests, with an emphasis on the awesome Big Frog/Cohutta Wilderness, the largest protected area in the eastern United States. Our presentation is part of Sierra’s celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act that continues throughout the year.
The picnic begins at 6, with dishes and drink available inside the Outdoor Chattanooga building. From there, we’ll move outside and relax in Coolidge Park. At 7pm, we return indoors for the Wilderness slide show by Sierra member Davis Mounger, featuring a mix of slides and video.
Everyone’s encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. Sierra will supply plates, cups, and utensils. Please let us know if you plan to bring a dish. Contact: Sheryl Campbell 423.693.4729 campfamily63@gmail.com
