Join us in the New Year for a discussion of the acclaimed novel SERENA, by Ron Rash, on March 4th.
A New York Times bestseller and PEN/Faulkner Award Finalist, SERENA is “masterfully written . . . sprawling, engrossing and—from time to time—nightmarish,” (San Francisco Chronicle). Rash's chilling gothic tale tells of greed, corruption and revenge set against the backdrop of the 1930’s wilderness and America's burgeoning environmental movement.
The novel, named a Best Book of the Year by more than a dozen national publications including The New York Times and the Washington Post, has become a film produced by Susanne Bier and stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. The film is to premiere in the U.S. in February 2015.
This event is free and open to the public! Drinks and food will be available for purchase. 10% of the proceeds from the evening will benefit the outreach programs of the Southern Lit Alliance.
