Do you enjoy the special exhibitions the Hunter Museum presents each year, like this summer’s Monet & American Impressionism? Are you often reminded of a thought-provoking program you experienced at the Hunter? Have you been delighted by a jazz brunch you attended? These experiences are made possible in part by Spectrum—the Hunter Museum’s annual art auction and gala fundraiser.
This year’s Spectrum Chairs, Charlie and Lisa Brock, along with their committee are working hard to present one of the classiest parties in Chattanooga. "We are planning a fresh, progressive, and exciting event," Lisa said, "but we want to return to some features of Spectrum that attendees have indicated they love, such as the formal, seated dinner and a return to hosting the live and silent auctions on separate evenings."
The Spectrum 2015 weekend kicks off Thursday evening, November 12 with cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and the Silent Auction (click here to purchase Silent Auction tickets). Two nights later, on Saturday evening, November 14, guests will enjoy cocktails, a full dinner, and the Live Auction.
The Art Selection Committee, chaired by Alexis and Barry Bogo, has been combing galleries in multiple cities, including Austin, New York, Atlanta and Nashville, to present a fantastic variety of art at the auction. The artwork to be auctioned will be available for preview on-line in late October.
New this year, we will be using a very easy, user-friendly electronic bidding system to expedite check-in, check-out, and the bidding process for the silent and part of the live auctions. Attendees are encouraged to bring their smart phone in order to participate in the bidding. For those without a smart phone, an electronic bidding kiosk will be available.
