Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Chattanooga Area City of Chattanooga, Tennessee
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank wants everyone in the Greater Chattanooga area to mark their calendar for the 22nd Annual National Association of Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" food drive Saturday May 10th. Residents are encouraged to leave a bag of non-perishable food items, such as canned vegetables, tuna, peanut butter, dry beans or oats, next to their mailbox prior to their regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 10th. City letter carriers will take donations to the CAFB. The CAFB is also accepting Stamp Out Hunger monetary donations along with canned food items. Food and funds raised through this event will help feed the 1 in 6 adults and the 1 in 4 children in the Chattanooga area who are unsure where their next meal will come from. Stamp Out Hunger is one of the CAFB's largest annual food drives. Last May, the letter carriers collected more than 80,000 pounds of food for the CAFB and its 20 county service area. This year, the CAFB's goal is 100,000 pounds, an amount that would provide over 83,000 meals. For more information please visit www.chattfoodbank.org.
