Ways of Western Wisdom

When most people think of words like ‘mindful’ and ‘meditation’ they tend to think of spiritual traditions in Asia such as Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism. They are often unaware that there are esoteric and mystical practices that are part of the Western European tradition that are rich in spiritual knowledge and experience. Many of these practices were nearly wiped out during the 700-year reign of terror known as the Inquisition. The Western Mystery Traditions, including Astrology and Alchemy, provide equally powerful intellectual constructs and spiritual practices as Eastern traditions on how the world works and how to work in the world. This is an experiential class where we will explore the ideas and engage in the practices of these traditions so you can begin to integrate them into your daily life. Ways of Western Wisdom will be covered in monthly modules and will include way of magic, tarot, astrology, alchemy, dreamer and visionary.

Details: Classes meet on Monday evenings from 5:30-7:00 pm. Each month’s module will cover one of the Western Mystery Traditions during each of the four weekly classes that month. Each module will stand on its own, followed by another module and tradition the next month. Registration is for the four classes of each monthly module. While attending all the modules is encouraged, you can register for any monthly module.
