Chattanooga Brewing Company Offers “Oaktoberfest”
Since 2006, the 100-year-old Chattanooga Brewery has been rebuilt from the ground up by a passionate and dedicated team of brewers and beer drinkers. Their current location, on Chestnut Street by Finley Stadium, features a brewing area in the back built almost entirely by hand, and every beer they serve has been crafted and aged on site.
Their goal—aside from making high-quality beer—is to change the way people think about drinking. To them, beer shouldn’t just be guzzled for its effects, so they aim to make alcohol drinkers can savor. While they do serve food, they try to keep their menu simple so they can concentrate on the all-important beer list. To top it off, both the brewers and the servers are committed to providing a positive, responsible atmosphere in the bar.
This year, Chattanooga Brewing Co. is especially excited to add their fall beers to the menu alongside staples like their Imperial Pilsner and Chestnut Street Brown Ale. Their lovingly crafted Oktoberfest is already coming in, but they’ve also got something a little out of the ordinary: What they’re calling “Oaktoberfest,” a beer aged in whiskey barrels, courtesy of their budding relationship with Chattanooga Whiskey. They’ll start serving it in early October, and it’s sure to be worth the wait.
If great beer isn’t enough, they’ve also got a packed itinerary of weekly activities. Tuesday nights are Brewga nights, when $10 will get you a pint and a yoga class in the loft portion of the bar. Wednesdays are the age-old classic—trivia.
