Come see the live performance on the big screen
The Metropolitan Opera’s Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series of live performance transmissions returns to cinemas across the United States this fall with the ninth season of The Met: Live in HD.
The season begins with Verdi’s Macbeth, starring Anna Netrebko and Željko Lucic, on Saturday, Oct. 11 and will feature 10 live and 10 encore presentations through April.
Star soprano Anna Netrebko delivers her searing portrayal of Lady Macbeth, the mad and murderous mate of Željko Lucic’s doomed Macbeth, for the first time at the Met.
Adrian Noble’s chilling production of Verdi’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s tragedy also stars Joseph Calleja as Macduff and René Pape as Banquo with Fabio Luisi conducting.
During intermission, interviews with cast, crew, and production teams give an unprecedented look at what goes into the staging of an opera.
