The Chattanooga Library celebrates Free Comic Book Day
Free Comic Book day is not just for kids. As part of Free Comic Book Day at the Chattanooga Public library, they will present a free screening of the in-depth PBS documentary “Superheroes: A Never Ending Battle”, narrated by Liev Schreiber.
Among the notable on-camera talents in the film are Stan Lee, Adam West, Lynda Carter, Pulitzer Prize winners Michael Chabon and Jules Feiffer, and interviews with the late greats Joe Simon (co-creator of Captain America) and Jerry Robinson (who helped create the Joker).
This is an inspiring documentary on American culture and comics, illuminating how superheroes have become so widespread thanks to the movies, and this shows how it all started. It is an awesome American phenomenon.
While you're there be sure to take part in their “comic swap.” Bring one (or two...) and take one (or two...). A very fun event for kids of all ages.
