There are “warrior” poses in yoga that just by the very nature of the physicality of them, help a person feel empowered, strong, capable and ready to face down the demons.
But here’s the thing: The warrior within needs just as much nurturing and attention as any other part of you. If your inner tapes are playing self-esteem damaging messages, from where will the warrior derive his/her confidence? Those tapes aren’t yours…they were inflicted by others. They are not you.
Consider this: Observe how many times a day you think something diminishing about yourself. Next step: Use those moments as triggers to replace those thoughts with something positive, even if at first it’s hard to believe.
