Its back! The annual short (short) story contest is now taking entries.
One of our favorite times of year is upon us. When the sounds of computer keyboards (and maybe an old-school typewriter or two) fill the air as Chattanooga's best writing talent takes on one of the more fun writing challenges: The Pulse Short (Short) Story Contest.
Here's how it works:
- Subject matter can be anything you can think of, though do keep in mind we are public newspaper that is freely distributed to the public (in other words, please keep it clean);
- Entries must be NO LONGER than 500 words, must never have been published before, and must include a title;
- One one entry per writer (send us your best work);
- Submit as a Microsoft Word document, and include your name and contact info in the document.
Submissions are due by FRIDAY, JULY 10 and the finalists -- as judged by a panel of local literary experts -- will be published in the July 23rd issue of The Pulse.
Send your submissions to creative@chattanoogapulse.com with the subject title "Short Story Contest"
Get writing and good luck!
