Art hanging on the line instead of clothes. For the women artists who 18 years ago came together to support each other contining to make art while their families grew, it symbolized the blending of their lives, according to Kate Treick, artist and spokesperson for Our Clothesline Fine Art Show, going on for two weekends at the Sessions House.
The biannual show is now in its second year, and includes two generations of female artists, some of whom are students of the founders.
“You’ll see work from both established artists and those who are emerging,” said Treick. Art will be displayed both outside the Sessions House, and inside it, and includes oils, acrylics, watercolors, prints, collage, ceramics and sculpture, she said. “One young artist has created a bronze fountain.”
Paintings and prints are displayed matted but not framed, which makes them more affordable to more people, Treick said.
And unlike a typical gallery setting, children are welcome. “We’ll have our little ones there without a doubt,” she said.
