Ballet meets Shakespeare in special big screen event
It may well be the most famous boy-meets-girl story in the world. And no matter how many times (and in how many different variations) you’ve seen the tale of star-crossed young lovers, it never gets old.
The timeless story of William Shaekespeare’s classic “Romeo and Juliet”—as performed by the San Francisco Ballet—will be shown on the big screen at Carmike’s East Ridge 18 as a special presentation of the Lincoln Center on Thursday, Sept. 24 for a one-night event.
With its passionate choreography, spine-tingling swordsmanship, and celebrated score by Sergei Prokofiev, this colorful and emotional retelling of “Romeo and Juliet” has packed houses around the world.
In addition, the audience will be treated to a behind-the-scenes look of the acclaimed company and exclusive interviews with the artists.
