Signal Mountain native Seth Carico has reached unbelievable heights in his career. From a role in The King and I at age nine in Signal Mountain’s Playhouse to roles in Rigoletto and Little Women, Seth Carico built a lasting reputation of bass-baritone vocals and commanding stage presence.
This Saturday, Carico will join Chattanooga Symphony at the Tivoli to display the operatic vocals that gained him popularity.
Carico’s voice has earned him performances around the world. Opera Today and Opera News have praised him for his ringing baritone voice, which he effortlessly uses to captivate audiences.
His strong vocals along with dramatic influences brings a unique perspective to operatic characters in different theatrical genres.
In 2007, Carico was awarded a special prize at the International Czech and Slovak Song Competition in Montreal, earning him incredible recognition in the following years. In 2010 through 2011, he became part of Deutsche Oper Berlin and Teatro Regio Torino, which are both prominent opera and ballet houses.
A little closer to home is his role of Monterone in Rigoletto performed as part of the Nashville Opera. Back home in Chatt, Carico will perform a few of his Broadway favorites and opera selections from past performances such as the “The Torreador Song” from Carmen, as Chattanooga’s Own.
