Nashville Scene Reporter Captures His Arrest On Video
Nashville Scene reporter Jonathan Meador was arrested at the 'Occupy Nashville' protest just after midnight, early Saturday morning. The Tennessee state trooper who made the arrest charged him with resisting, as you can clearly hear on the video(click the 'Video' tab in this post to view it). The officer also charged him with intoxication, which is never stated at the time of arrest. Meador clearly identifies himself as a member of the media but that fact seems to be ignored by the trooper. The video itself is interrupted with Meador being shoved to the ground, but the audio is very clear.
Development: Chris Ferrel, CEO of Southcomm (Nashville Scene's parent company), issues a letter asking the Governor for a formal apology for the arrest of Scene reporter Jonathan Meador.
