A Community Contra Dance

The Folk School of Chattanooga & Chattanooga Traditional Dance host A Community Contra Dance open to all featuring caller Scott Russell with music by The HickHoppers (Mick Kinney, Evan Kinney & Chris Ryan Casbarro). Everyone is invited to join our welcoming, family-friendly community and enjoy this lively, traditional social dance -- including both contras and squares. No partners are necessary. All dances are taught in walk-throughs. Toe-tapping music makes even sitting out enjoyable. Wear comfortable clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. There will be a contra basics workshop for beginners at the start of the evening -- so plan to arrive early!
