Drawing, painting, sculpture, collage and printmaking are just a few of the exciting art activities children will experience this summer.
AVA’s Art Camp offers weeklong in-depth classes led by professional artists that cover a range of topics in 2-D and 3-D art. A variety of age-appropriate classes (ages 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11), each with a different focus, are offered throughout the months of June and July.
AVA Art Camp is held at the Ireland Fine Arts Center located at Baylor School in Chattanooga. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants per session. Early registration is encouraged to ensure space in the program of your choice. Lunch and drinks will be provided. Bring an afternoon snack for full day programs Pre-registration is necessary.

Expressions and Impressions/Ages 10-11

Students will learn about the magic of color, collage, painting, and found object sculpture.
Session 2/June 10-14
It’s All About Me/Ages 8-9

Participants will learn about color and composition through a series of hands on projects focused on self-exploration.
Session 3/June 17-21
Wild Things/Ages 6-7

Using cardboard boxes and brightly colored paint, children will create animal totems. Students will explore found sculpture, various painting experiments, and printmaking.
Session 4/June 24-28/ 9 am - noon
Mini Masters/Ages 4-5
Stacey Alverson
This session will introduce children to the fundamentals of the visual language, such as line, color and shape. Participants will get a chance to create their very own masterpieces.
Session 5/July 8-12
Picture This/Ages 10-11

Using painting, collage, and printmaking techniques, children will explore the art of portraits as well as create stories through visual art.
Session 6/July 15-19
Don’t Fence Me In/Ages 8-9

Utilizing printmaking and painting techniques, participants will learn about color and composition by illustrating their imagination.

Creature Features/Ages 6-7

Using paint, sculpture, and collage, students will use their imagination to create unique creatures and tell a story through art.
