Stacy Allison, the first American woman to summit Mt. Everest, will serve as the keynote speaker for the 7th Annual Leadership Address to the Community on February 23rd at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
On her first attempt, Stacy Allison weathered fierce competition, 100-mph blizzards and failed to summit Mt. Everest. "Turning back can be the most important yet difficult decision of all, particularly when there is so much pressure to succeed." Stacy reflects, "If you see yourself as trying to beat the mountain, eventually the mountain will win. You don't conquer mountains, you cooperate with them."
Stacy returned to Mt. Everest, and on September 29, 1988, after twenty-nine days on the mountain, she became the first American woman to reach the summit.
Now, as a professional speaker, author and owner of a construction company, Stacy combines her business acumen with the richness of her spirit for adventure to inspire others. Her dynameic messages encourage us to take a visionary look at opportunities and reach for new heights.
