Leap Into Art 1
Visitors can meet the artists and enjoy the experience of becoming an art collector, perhaps a leap in a new and exciting direction for them. They can see the inspired creations of In-Town’s artists as they explore the Leap Year theme in various media, from clay and wood to glass and metal, fiber, paint and photography.
In addition to Linda Thomas’ intaglio etchings of rabbits, toads and frogs, Jennie Kirkpatrick made a watercolor of the leaping fountains in Coolidge Park. The scenic view from Lovers’ Leap in Rock City is the subject of another painting, and Janis Wilkey portrays the leaping waters of Bald River Falls above Tellico Plains in oils on canvas. The brilliant colors on Paul Fontana’s works and Helen Brooks’ collages will leap out to catch the viewer’s attention. Mary Clor has designed a unique piece of jewelry to reflect the theme, and a leaping lizard is portrayed in fabric by Linda White .
