The newly constructed "The Commons", located in Collegedale, has now been completed allowing Collegedale Market vendors a covered venue where they can sell their goods all year long.
Previously held outdoors each week (and Thanksgiving weekend), the growing market will hold it's 2nd annual Christmas Market inside the covered 10,000 barn-like space—fitted with a large wood burning fireplace—just in time for the post Thanksgiving Market.
David Barto, Director of the Collegedale Foundation says, "Since The Commons was first sketched out on the back of a church bulletin, bringing events like the Collegedale Christmas Market was a priority. We are proud to have our second Christmas Market here in Collegedale, at The Commons. We hope that you and yours will join our family in this new tradition."
Around 50 vendors, crafters, food artisans and even Santa Claus will make the weekend festive and provide an opportunity for early holiday gift shopping. Visitors can expect some new vendors (look for the chai tea booth), in addition to old time favorites, selling soaps, jewelry, pottery, and specialty food items for the season. Santa will be on hand for photos and visits from 11-2pm both Saturday and Sunday. Christmas carols, warm cocoa and a wood-burning fire make the experience one families won't want to miss.
The Commons will continue to host the Collegedale Market throughout the season with a special Winter Market before the regular season resumes. More information, or to learn how to become a vendor visit PublicMarkets.US.
