PITCH, HIT AND RUN YOUTH BASEBALL COMPETITION. OPEN TO ALL BOYS AND GIRLS AGES 7-14. SUNDAY, MAY 18TH, 1PM AT SUMMIT OF SOFTBALL. 8915 APISON PIKE IN OOLTEWAH. The City of Chattanooga’s Department of Youth & Family Development (YFD) is proud to host Major League Baseball’s Pitch, Hit and Run competition, allowing youth from the Chattanooga area to test their skills in baseball agilities. Events include pitching accuracy, fastest around bases, hitting distance, and best all around score. PHR is open to all youth ages 7-14.
Participants are encouraged to pre-register by emailing Richard West at west_richard@chattanooga.gov or by calling 423-643-6055. Open competition will begin at 1pm. Winners will advance to sectionals, following the open competition, held at Summit of Softball. 1st place winners have a chance to advance to Atlanta for regional competition in June. Chattanooga YFD has hosted PHR for 15 years, most recently at the City’s award winning Summit of Softball Facility. YFD is proud to have sent local youth to regional and national competition consistently through the years. Most recently, Cadashia Collins competed nationally in 2012 in Kansas City.
