The Chattery Third Anniversary Bash
Dish-T-Pass 302 W 6th St, City of Chattanooga, Tennessee 37402
The Chattery, a nonprofit learning collective, is celebrating three years of classes and events on Thursday, April 13 at Dish T’Pass Grab and Go Cafe.
The Chattery held its very first class in March 2014 and has grown to offer over 130 learning experiences in Chattanooga, including six Cinematics film series events. Classes have ranged from basic skill building to art and culture, and have taken place in 28 different venues in the city of Chattanooga.
“We started The Chattery because we saw a gap in Chattanooga when it comes to real human connection,” says Shawanda Mason, co-founder and board chair of The Chattery. “By creating The Chattery, we give people a chance to meet someone knew and learn a special skill all in one setting.”
The Chattery not only promotes learning but also highlights what Chattanooga has to offer. In the past three years, The Chattery has partnered with 75 different small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals to provide fun, affordable and accessible education to Chattanooga.
“The Chattery believes in Chattanooga and the people who help make the town great,” says Jennifer Holder, co-founder and executive director of The Chattery. “We strive to highlight community members who hves something wonderful to share, and we’ve been so grateful for the past three years of classes."
For April, The Chattery has lined up a diverse group of classes including learning how to prepare food based on the season, the basics of origami, and collecting art on a budget. More information about these classes and more can be found at www.thechattery.org.
