Hamilton County's newest bi-weekly farmers and artists market kicks off May 4th
The much anticipated opening for the newest public market in Hamilton County is quickly approaching. Starting Wednesday, May 4th, the Collegedale Market will be open for the community every Wednesday and Saturday through the summer months from 4-7pm.
The Market will be held on the grounds of the future site of Collegedale Commons. The community will experience a taste of offerings from local farms, artisans and food truck cuisine.
Construction of the Commons is expected to be underway later in 2016. For the May opening of the Collegedale Market, large festive tents will provide the platform for the open-air style market with access to the restroom facilities.
Over 25 vendors are anticipated each day of operation. Visitors will be able to experience the Market, Imagination Station playground, pickle ball courts, and Veterans Park all in the same outing.
The excitement over growth plans and the buildout of Collegedale Commons continues to spark. Led by Collegedale Tomorrow Foundation's David Barto, and in partnership with the City of Collegedale, the facility will feature a farmers market pavilion, green space for outdoor concerts and events, and an indoor community center for year-round events.
"The Commons is slated to become the arts and cultural hub of East Hamilton County" says David Barto, Director of the Collegedale Tomorrow Foundation.
The Collegedale Market is organized and operated by Public Markets, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The organization is best known for it's success in building Chattanooga Market and Chattanooga River Market.
