Sweet-tempered daddy's girl Bianca can have her pick of suitors, but not until her sister, the acid-tongued Kate, can be married off. Rising to the challenge is Petruchio, but can he match Kate jab for jab? A battle of the sexes is engaged as this hilarious, delirious tangle of masquerades and misdirection becomes, in the end, a surprising love story that dares to ask what roles we play...and, underneath, who we really are. Our production will have you singing and dancing in the aisles as the story's setting of Padua is transported to a neighborhood not unlike Manhattan's Little Italy in 1960 and scored with familiar tunes by the likes of Louis Prima, Rosemary Clooney and Tony Bennett.
