"A Midsummer Night's Dream"
Northwest Georgia Bank Amphitheatre 220 Catoosa Circle, City of Chattanooga, Tennessee 30736
“What happens in the woods, stays in the woods.” A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of Shakespeare’s most beloved play. Lysander loves Hermia. Hermia loves Lysander. Demetrius loves Hermia. Helena loves Demetrius.
But no one loves Helena… poor Helena. These foolish lover’s lives get even more outrageous when, lost in the woods on a midsummer’s eve, the love-sick quartet find themselves in the middle of a fairy’s feud between Oberon the Fairy King, And his Fairy Queen Titania.
Armed with a potent love potion, The Puck, Robin Goodfellow causes more chaos then one forest can handle. With magic and mayhem, a donkey’s head, and a troupe of rude mechanicals, you’ll be side splitting laughing “Lord, what fools these mortals be!”
Though the show is free, Back Alley is accepting donations before, after and during intermission at each venue. These donations go towards continuing this effort to offer quality Shakespeare free to the public.Audience members should bring water, snacks, chairs, a blanket for grass venues, bug spray, and umbrellas.
Midsummer night’s dream is great for families to experience the arts together and provide an all-around fun event. The show will include a talk back at the end at each venue where the cast will stay after to answer questions, discuss the show, Shakespeare, acting, and what it’s like to learn Elizabethan dialogue as well as offer any photo ops.
