The Scenic City Football and Cheerleading League are hosting the Scenic City Cheerleading Explosion. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Central high School in Harrison from 1-4pm. All the benefits and monies made will provide scholarships for those children whose families are not financially able to pay their registration and applicable fees. Additionally, we provide opportunities for children with disabilities to participate in sports and we embrace the differences in all of our children. We operate our league solely on the support and donations from businesses and individuals.
What to expect- Cheer Recognition Day Explosion 2013 will bring little league football players, cheerleaders, parents, vendors, local news/radio coverage, and spectators from across the Scenic City. We’re expecting 400-500 spectators at this event. Cheerleaders will perform throughout the day, Coaches are recognized for their dedication and hard work, and local businesses and sponsors are recognized throughout the day. Our league will offer fun contests for spectators, players, food, music, vendors and other fun events all for the purpose of raising money for our league.
This year we are excited to recognize Ms. Lila Milburn who represents the mission and values of the Scenic City Youth League. Sweet little Lila was born with Down syndrome and is living her life to the fullest! Her mother, Latricia Milburn, News Anchor for News Channel nine, has championed the efforts to bring awareness for Down syndrome.
