First Annual Blessing of the Bicycles

Joyride Bicycle Collective, in conjunction with Grace Episcopal Church and the Brainerd Farmer's Market, is sponsoring the first annual interfaith Blessing of the Bicycles. We know that riding our bikes is not without peril. This is a way of acknowledging this while also affirming the inherent goodness in the gifts of life, health, fresh air, and the beautiful and humble bicycle!

This event is open to all regardless of religious affiliation, race, creed, color, sexual orientation, fat or thin tires, and brand of bike. Some may take it more seriously than others and it's all good. We are a human community asking blessings on those who brave the streets, rural roads, and trails of East Tennessee.

So, ride your bicycle (or tricycle, or unicycle, or...) over to the market Saturday morning, do your weekly shopping, and then meet us in the pavilion for an interfaith blessing of the bicycles by Fr. Zack Nyein. Afterward, we'll partake of some snacks and drinks to sustain us on our journeys home. or wherever we are going.
