Isha Institute for Inner-Sciences 951 Isha Lane, McMinnville, Tennessee 37110
Isha Foundation U.S.A. invites you to the annual Isha Fest: A Celebration of Enlightenment on Saturday, September 22, 2012.
Isha Fest is celebrated each year around September 23rd in tandem with the International Day of Peace and focuses on spiritual heritage that transcends cultural differences and offers tremendous possibilities for anyone willing to experience the unity and inter-connectedness of life.
Interested visitors and guests are invited to experience the Isha Institute of Inner-Sciences in McMinnville, TN, a burgeoning yoga, meditation, and retreat center situated among acres of beautiful forests, cliffs, valleys, and waterfalls. Both gentle walks and more challenging hikes are planned for adults, as well as a healthy vegetarian brunch and a general center tour, which includes a visit to a consecrated shrine and to Mahima, the largest freestanding meditation dome in the western hemisphere. A variety of action-filled games and outdoor activities are planned for adults and children.
The date commemorates Sadhguru Vasudev’s Enlightenment on September 23, 1982. Sadhguru, a yogi, mystic, renowned humanitarian, and founder of Isha Foundation, has dedicated and committed his life to raising human consciousness, deeply touching and transforming hundreds of thousands of lives around the world.
This year, which also marks Isha’s 30th year of raising human consciousness, Isha Fest 2012 features an exuberant, multi-cultural celebration including performances in Indian classical dance, Chinese dance, theatrical miming, fire spinning, and of course Isha’s own musical group, local favorites Sounds of Isha.
All guests over the age of 11 are invited to attend a meditation session that introduces Isha Kriya, a simple but powerful 15-minute meditation that you can do at home. Daily practice of Isha Kriya brings increased clarity, awareness, energy, and a heightened sense of peacefulness and joy.
Isha Fest is a Free Event and Open to All. We invite everyone from the community and surrounding areas to experience this unique space and celebrate unlimited human potential.
