Reception for "River & Shore"

“River & Shore: Perspectives on Landscape” is a showing of paintings by Renel Plouffe and James Tucker that explores the natural world from two very distinct artistic directions: abstraction and representation. The differences in their work provide the viewer with exciting visual insights, but despite these differences, there are also surprising similarities in the work of the two artists. As Ms. Plouffe has said, “We both try to reveal the essence of the subject in a meaningful way. To me, we are visual poets who express our feelings about a common subject in different languages.” The work of Ms. Plouffe and Mr. Tucker will be on display at Reflections Gallery through May 13th.
