The Rev. Fadi Diab, Anglican Palestinian Priest, to speak at St. Paul’s Church

The Reverend Fadi Diab, Rector of St. Andrew’s Church, Ramallah and St. Peter's Church, Birzeit in the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem will preach at Saint Paul’s on Sunday, July 6 at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Eucharists. He will speak about his experience as a Palestinian Christian. Fr. Diab will also be available in Key-Andrews Hall for conversation from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., as well as at a reception with directed conversation at 11:45 a.m.

Born and educated in the West Bank, Fr. Diab received his theological degree at the Near East School for Theology in Beirut, Lebanon in 1997. He was ordained as a priest in the Episcopal Church of Jerusalem in 2001. He is founder of the Youth Connection for Peace Program, and is a member of the Palestinian/Israeli Theologians Forum.

Fr. Diab has presented workshops at the World Council of Churches on the theological understanding of the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, and has spoken widely in churches in the United States. He is also a member of the Palestine Advisory Council of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship.

Fr. Diab comes to Chattanooga through the ministries of The Rev. Kammy Young, Director of Contextual Education at The School of Theology at The University of the South: Sewanee.
