Cupcakes have become a national phenomenon in recent years—but Gigi’s Cupcakes in particular take baking to the next level. At Gigi’s, cupcakes are works of art. Moist cakes are blank canvasses for delicious towers of icing, decorated beautifully according to flavor. To fit everyone’s fancies, different batches of cupcakes are baked every morning. From the number-one best seller “Wedding Cake,” a white cake topped with vanilla buttercream frosting and white nonpareils, to twists on America’s staple desserts, like “Midnight Magic,” a devil’s-food cake with dark chocolate chips topped with a chocolate buttercream frosting and chocolate chips, Gigi’s variety never disappoints.
Inspired by other favorite desserts, the cupcakes are single-serving delicacies that have been transformed from cakes, pies, candies, and fruits. Among creamy “Carrot Cake,” “Scarlett’s Red Velvet Cake,” and “Strawberry Shortcake,” your cake bases are covered. “Chocolate Turtle,” “Peanut Butter Cup,” “Double Stuff” and “Salted Caramel” cupcakes embody their respective candies—if they had been baked to perfection. They’re somehow even more delicious than their namesakes.
This fall, new cupcakes make the list, like “Bananas Foster,” a rich banana cake with spiced rum and spiced rum cream cheese frosting, drizzled with a brown sugar sauce. Another new addition is the “German Chocolate Cake” cupcake, with caramel, coconut and pecan filling and chocolate cream cheese frosting, topped with dollop of filling on a sweet, dark German chocolate cake. The fall menu also includes daily cupcake-sized authentic cheesecakes, in “Classic,” “Chocolate Chip,” and “Turtle,” and occasional specials, such as “Cookies and Cream,” “Lemon,” and “Raspberry.” In addition to cupcakes and cheesecakes, Gigi’s is introducing a new line of gourmet stuffed cookies and morning muffins to make your selection even harder.
With the holidays coming fast, try Gigi’s cupcake takes on classic Thanksgiving pies, like “Praline Pecan Pie,” “Apple Pie,” “Coconut Cream Pie,” “Chocolate Cream Pie,” “Kentucky Bourbon,” and “Pumpkin White Chocolate,” which will be available by special order or in-store the week of Thanksgiving and sporadically throughout November as long as supplies don’t run out…which they do almost every day. As always, Gigi’s recommends ordering ahead or online, just in case.
